After A Dispute Over Plants, A Landlord In Maine Runs Over His Tenant With A Tractor
As startling as the headline may be, the details of this confrontation in Action, Maine are just as ridiculous. The story as a whole may leave you saying; only in Maine.
According to WMTW, the landlord in question, a 64-year-old man named Leslie Dennis, was planning to evict a two female residents who rented property from him. Dennis called authorities to report those two females were vandalizing his property by digging up plants on the property. What is unclear in the story is what authorities did after that initial call.
Later during that same day, Dennis once again witnessed one of tenants and her adult son continuing to dig up plants on the property and that is when the physical confrontation began. Reports suggest Dennis got into his tractor and drove it toward the tenant and her adult son in a threatening manner. The tenant's adult son then grabbed a shovel and smacked Dennis with it. From there, Dennis ran over the female tenant with the tractor, resulting in a broken hip for her.
Authorities arrived on the scene and arrested Dennis. The female tenant was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
