Each and every summer, people from all over the world flock to Maine to enjoy everything the state has to offer. From incredible hikes and camping to world-class restaurants, breweries and more.

With so much to see and do throughout Vacationland, narrowing the scope on which tourist attractions you want to see and experience can be challenging. Especially when visiting Maine's largest city, Portland. So much to see and so little time.

Perhaps that was the mistake of one visitor to Portland from Indiana. Rather than check out some of the museums, live music venues, art galleries and terrific oceanfront watering holes, they spent their time visiting the Casco Bay Bridge that connects Portland and South Portland.

And then they spent the time reviewing it on TripAdvisor.

Architellus on TripAdvisor had this to say about the Casco Bay Bridge:

There is nothing lovely about this bridge. The tourist Mecca of Portland obviously made a budget conscious decision at the time instead of creating an architecturally noteworthy statement that might improve their coastal skyline. It is flat on concrete pylons. It gets you from A to B and that’s it. Of course the view is scenic, but the bridge’s design is thankless and strictly utilitarian

Some of their review is incredibly fair. There really isn't anything "lovely" about the Casco Bay Bridge. The fact that it's a working drawbridge doesn't seem to be under consideration from this review, which certainly makes the design less appealing thanks to its need to function.

That aside, the fact that anyone spent time on their visit to Maine reviewing the Casco Bay Bridge is something. Take it for what it is or just drive over it. Your choice.
