Dropkick Murphy’s Return to Portland, Maine, Just in Time for St. Patrick’s Day
Seeing the Dropkick Murphy's perform any time of the year is a party but there's some a little extra special about seeing them on the week of St. Patrick's Day.
We can see it now, the house lights go down and the beers go up. WCYY is proud to welcome our Boston boys back to Portland for a show at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. Their St. Patrick's Day 2024 tour will also include Pennywise and The Scratch.
The Celtic Punk band, formed in 1996, has gained recognition nationwide and beyond but let's make one thing perfectly clear, the vast majority of their hardcore fan base is right here in New England.
Back in 2004, the Quincy, Massachusetts band remade the 100 year old Red Sox fan anthem Tessie and brought it right back to life with a new twist.
That, along with songs like Shippin' Up to Boston and The State of Massachusetts only added to hardcore New England fan base of the Murphy's.
We are expecting this to be quite party and also expecting the Cross Insurance Arena to have plenty of kegs on hand for this event.
Watch the Murphy's perform their song "The Chosen Few" for the first time ever on the CYY Patio back in July of 2008.
Make sure you're listening to CYY for details on how and when you can win tickets. On sale date for the general public will be this Friday, November 17th at 10am.
Important: This is a State Theatre event but will be held at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
