
Margaritas Has Permanently Closed One of Their Maine Restaurants
For decades, people from Maine have flocked to a familiar chain to fill their needs for tacos, burritos and more.
That chain would be Margaritas, which has been a constant as one of the few Mexican food chains to make it throughout Maine.
But you won't be finding any Heavens to Margatroid at one Margaritas location in Maine because they've permanently closed.
Margaritas in Ellsworth, Maine, Permanently Closes After Months of Turmoil
Located at 191 Main Street in Ellsworth, the Margaritas location in downeast Maine had been under some fire recently.
According to the Ellsworth American, the state closed the Margaritas in Ellsworth back in May over an issue stemming from Maine's sales and tax statute. The restaurant also had several 'critical' food violations during an inspection back in March.
Despite the multiple issues. tt was expected that closure would be temporary, it has turned out to be permanent.
Another Margaritas Location in Orono, Maine, Closed Recently As Well
The same franchisee that owned the Ellsworth Margaritas location also owned another that closed earlier this year.
That would be the Margaritas in Orono, Maine, which abruptly closed its doors back in February after operating in the college town for nearly 40 years. There was never a clear reason given as to why that restaurant closed.
The Margaritas Chain is Still Doing Well Throughout New England
Many people in Maine might not realize that Margaritas restaurants are not a nationwide chain. The company still operates 25 restaurants, almost exclusively in New England.
Maine still has 4 Margaritas locations in Portland, Auburn, Augusta and Brunswick.
