Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers to Headline 2020 Boston Calling Festival
Two of rock's premiere acts will be back on the touring circuit next year, and they've both signed on to be part of the 2020 Boston Calling festival. Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers have been revealed as the first two acts for the event, with the announcement most certainly helping to aid initial ticket sales, which begin tomorrow (Nov. 14).
Foo Fighters have been in the studio of late, and while no official announcement has come on their next album, a 2020 release is likely. 2020 will also continue their 25th year as a group. Red Hot Chili Peppers, meanwhile, have also been working on a new album, which will be their first release in three years.
Announcing two of rock's biggest names is a solid start for Boston Calling, which typically features a more eclectic lineup of acts from across multiple genres. In all, over 60 acts are expected to take the stage, with the third headliner and remaining acts expected to be revealed in January.
The music weekend will take place at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Mass. May 22 - 24. If Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers and the promise of more acts is enough to get you in the door, a limited pre-sale for three-day passes will begin tomorrow (Nov. 14) at 10AM ET at the Boston Calling website.
