Franz Ferdinand have crowded their 2017 calendar with tour dates — including a lengthy series of stops in North America.

The group's visit is scheduled to begin May 21 with a performance at the Hangout Music Fest in Gulf Shores, Ala., and continue through mid-June, when their currently announced North American run concludes at the Firefly Music Festival. Shortly after wrapping up this leg of the tour, the band's booked for a European run that'll keep them in front of crowds through late August; for a complete list of 2017 tour dates as well as detailed ticketing information, visit the band's official site.

This year's shows find the group continuing to work its way back to full-time action after a lengthy layoff in the wake of their 2013 album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. They've since released a collaborative LP with Sparks under the FFS banner, but the band's current activity — including the recently released track "Demagogue," which arrived last fall — open a new chapter following the departure of guitarist Nick McCarthy.
