The McRib is coming back!

According to CNN (yes, it's so important, CNN reports it) the limited-time triumphant return of the McRib is set for November 1! This is a big year for the gooey delicious fan favorite McRib. It turns 40 this year.

Back when it was first added to the menu in Kansas City in 1981, it was a complete failure. it lasted four years and then McDonald's pulled it from the menu. Wait, what? You don't know what a McRib is?

it's a boneless pork patty, shaped like a rack of ribs and smothered in barbecue sauce in a bun with pickles and onions. The McRib has gained a lot of popularity and loyal customers simply because you never knew if or when it was going to be around! It varied across the country. My mom was a FREAK about the McRib and then was disappointed when it went away. Lucky for her, when they pulled it in Idaho, it popped up in Maine.

I will always be grateful to the McDonalds on Route on in Falmouth for deconstructing a few McRibs so that I could then mail them to her! Yes. I mailed the McRib to my mother. I'm not kidding when I say that fans are nuts for this sandwich!

You can thank the unique deliciousness of the sandwich and social media also for creating the frenzy dubbed, 'The McRib Season'. The 2021 season will start on NOVEMBER 1. There is no word on how long the season will last, so load up while you can. The November 1 release date is across the country. That's important information in case you are out of town and worried.

Scoot over pumpkin spice, there's a new obsession in town starting in November!
