Even though the most hardcore disc golfers know that there are a few courses in Maine that operate year-round, they are always up for a new challenge.

And a new challenge will present itself at the Cross Insurance Arena on February 20 and 21, as a 9-hole indoor disc golf course will be constructed as a temporary reprieve from winter.

In a press release from the Cross Insurance Arena, Hammond Farm Disc Golf will take over the Cross Insurance Arena on Saturday, February 20, and Sunday, February 21, and install a challenging and unique 9-hole disc golf course far different than the one on their home turf of North Berwick.

In fact, Hammond Farm plans to utilize as much of the indoor space as they can with basket placement being anywhere from hallways to seating balconies.

For disc golf lovers, this is a chance to play a round in comfortable conditions in the middle of winter that has a twist of difficulty to it.

There is a per-person fee for this event.

Cross Insurance Arena will require everyone to wear a mask and adhere to physical distancing rules while playing the indoor course. There will also be temperature checks day-of before entry into the event.

Correction: An earlier version of this article had the incorrect dates for the event. They are Saturday, February 20, and Sunday, February 21.
