Hearts of Pine Do It Again: Portland Drops Another Stunning Maine-Themed Jersey
You would think Hearts would be getting tired of this, but here we go again—another absolute fire kit reveal.
Maine’s most popular thing this side of lobsters, the Portland Hearts of Pine, is gearing up for its second season of action on the soccer pitch. And of course, that means the team needs some new gear. And if Hearts need new gear, you know it’s going to be sharp.
Portland Hearts of Pine Reveal a Brand New Jersey for the 2026 Season
So, Portland decided to drop a monster of a kit (jersey) reveal on New Year’s Day, one that absolutely blew away Hearts supporters and soccer fans across the nation.
Behold, the Lighthouse Kit.
I mean… WOW. What a banger.
Just when you think Hearts can’t outdo themselves, they do exactly that.
The team legitimately created a kit that represents one of Maine’s most iconic landmarks: West Quoddy Head Lighthouse up in Lubec.
However, that’s not the only symbol the kit represents. And no, I’m not talking about Where’s Waldo (though who doesn’t love Waldo?). The Lighthouse Kit also pays homage to one of the wildest U.S. Soccer jerseys of all time—the official U.S. Men’s National Team home kit from 2012–2014. It was famously worn by one of the gentlemen featured in the Hearts promo images and video: the legend himself, Landon Donovan.
One of the greatest U.S. soccer players ever, Donovan made 157 appearances for the national team, scoring 57 goals and captaining the squad for many years. Now a commentator and successful soccer podcaster, Donovan has spoken about Portland’s success—so why not bring him Down East to help promote the new kit? A very cool surprise for Hearts fans.
Joining Landon for the shoot was another captain—Hearts midfielder Mikey Lopez—who’s ready to lace up the boots for Portland again in 2026.
The Lighthouse Kit is an absolute beauty. In this author’s view, it’s the second-best Hearts kit we’ve seen, trailing only the original Woods & Water green-and-blue striped gem.

That said, every kit released so far has been a massive hit with Portland fans, with the team selling huge quantities of merchandise. It’s easy to argue that Hearts of Pine is one of the most popular minor-league franchises in the country when it comes to merch sales.
Where Can You Buy the Lighthouse Kit?
The Lighthouse Kit is now available on the Hearts of Pine website, and you can bet we’ll be seeing plenty of them at Fitzpatrick Stadium this year.
