To say Cooper Flagg has had a great basketball season might be the understatement of the century.

The freshman basketball sensation appears to be enjoying his time at Duke University. The Blue Devils are currently one of the best teams in the nation and will undoubtedly have a strong shot at making a run to the Final Four later this month.

Duke heads into the ACC Championship as the regular-season champion, after finishing 19-1 in conference play.

Cooper Flagg's Incredible Freshman Year at Duke University

A lot of that has to do with Flagg, who has been quite the leader on the floor for Duke. At the time of publishing this article, the Newport native leads the team in points (19.4 per game), rebounds (7.6), assists (4.2), blocks (1.3), and steals (1.5). That is simply unheard of. It's one thing to lead in a few of the major categories, but in all of them? That's some serious baller status.

On top of that, Flagg's incredible play was recently recognized by the ACC with a plethora of awards and accolades. Let's take a closer look.

The team also hasn't lost a game since November and will likely secure a No. 1 seed when the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 kicks off on March 20. They will certainly be one of the teams to beat.

Cooper Flagg Had One of the Dunks of the Year

And, on top of all this, Flagg can also add to his list the fact that he had one of the best highlights of the college basketball regular season: a gargantuan dunk that sent basketball fans into hysteria.

It happened early in the second half of a game against Pittsburgh, when Flagg snagged a loose ball on his own end. He then proceeded with his attack toward the basket, blowing by one defender before reaching the paint. That's when this happened.

It was an incredible play by Flagg. Everything was on display there: court awareness, basketball IQ, instincts, and athleticism—all at peak levels. You could go an entire season without seeing something as beautiful as this. What a player Cooper continues to be.

Flagg is still one of the favorites to win Player of the Year, which is incredibly impressive for a freshman. He's also expected to be the first pick in the upcoming NBA draft if he chooses to leave school.

You know, just another kid from Maine making it big.

Here's wishing Cooper and his Blue Devils best of luck in the NCAA Tournament. He got this lifelong Duke hater cheering for them...kind of.
