After every holiday season wraps at the Maine Mall, there is predictably a few departures from the retail hub.

But every so often, there's some unpredictable departures that are completely out of the control of the mall.

And the Maine Mall is feeling some of that right now.

A couple weeks ago, it was announced that Francesca's would be closing down all of their stores nationwide because of bankruptcy.

Another chain, Leggings Home, also closed their Maine Mall location permanently.

Now, another major nationwide chain is set to depart the Maine Mall for good thanks to money troubles.

According to Retail Dive, Eddie Bauer has already begun closing the majority of their stores nationwide, including their location at the Maine Mall.

The Seattle-based retailer looks like it will still exist in the e-commerce sector as well as with just a handful of physical stores across the U.S. and Canada.

A liquidation sale is ongoing at the Maine Mall right now.

For 2025, the brand occupied a full store front. That store has officially closed. It's unknown as of this writing whether or not the Blue Alpaca store will return for the 2026 holiday season.

Both Eddie Bauer and Francesca's are expected to wrap up their liquidation sales with the next few weeks and close permanently.
