Maine's Ski Season Has Almost Arrived

So, it’s time to swap out the golf clubs for ski boots and get your gear tuned up. Maine’s stunning slopes are calling, and one mountain has already announced its opening day... well, sort of.

Let the season begin.

While the snow hasn’t started falling yet, and the snowmaking machines remain idle, that hasn’t slowed down Sugarloaf’s plans to announce a tentative opening. The mountain has posted November 21–23 as its opening weekend—marking the start of its 75th year in operation.

Sugarloaf Mountain is One of Maine's Premier Ski Resorts

Ever since the first trail was cut back in 1950, Sugarloaf has been one of the true ski gems of the Northeast. It attracts visitors from far and wide with its massive terrain, iconic snowfields, and stunning natural beauty. Experts can even enjoy above-treeline glades—rare for East Coast skiing. As the second-tallest mountain in Maine, it can get pretty gnarly up there.

The mountain is also inviting people to share their favorite Sugarloaf memories and stories, which will be featured throughout this 75th anniversary season as part of the celebration of its incredible legacy.
