‘Legends of the Hidden Temple’ Movie Will Of Course Return Kirk Fogg (and His Denim)
Fans of Nickelodeon’s Legends of the Hidden Temple were briefly excited, then admittedly curious at news that the beloved game show would return (in the form of a TV movie), and they’ll at least have some familiar faces. Original host Kirk Fogg will return for the new scripted iteration as well, paying homage to his time as a Legends of the Hidden Temple guide.
Nickelodeon has confirmed that Fogg will “play a key figure” in the new 2016 film, itself led by 100 Things to Do Before High School star Isabela Monae, along with Colin Critchley and Jet Jurgensmeyer. Said Fogg of the opportunity:
When Nickelodeon asked me to be a part of the Legends of the Hidden Temple movie, I immediately went to the closet and pulled out my blue denim shirt, which has been protected by a powerful golden force field since 1995. Legends is truly a legend, and I’m honored to be a part of it again. I’m sure the Ancient Olmec had something to do with this; that rock head is pretty sneaky.
Lest you think the movie would change too much of the original game:
In “Hidden Temple,” three siblings must conquer a series of obstacles to remain alive, mirroring the theme of the original game show. The TV movie, slated to appear in the fourth quarter of 2016, will nod to other elements from the original show, including Olmec, a talking head who knows the secrets behind the temple; the Steps of Knowledge, the entrance to the temple and launching pad for the mission; and cameos from a green monkey, red jaguar and silver snakes, among others.
Along with the first concept art:
It isn’t clear exactly when in late 2016 Nickelodeon would air the TV movie, but could a real Legends of the Hidden Temple return before long?
