The New England Patriots won a barnburner against hated rival the New Jersey York Jets with a last-minute miracle. It took nearly the entire 60 mins for the game to get its first touchdown. But when it did, it was in epic fashion.

It was a game destined for overtime that would get a finish that nobody saw coming. Patriot rookie Marcus Jones broke off an 84-yard punt return for a touchdown with just 5 seconds to play in regulation. A game that lacked serious action finished with one of the most clutch touchdowns of the season.

It was a cold, brisk day in Foxborough, and both teams struggled with the elements at times. But what both offenses truly struggled with were the opposing defenses. Both New England and New York's defenders dominated the game, combining for 13 sacks and just 400 yards allowed.

It's starting to become the similar theme of domination for this New England defense, a unit that continues to be a rock for Bill Belichick. Defensive Player-of-the-Year candidate Matthew Judon added another 1.5 sacks to his total. He, along with the rest of the team, held the Jets to just 103 total yards on the day.

Obviously, the special teams deserve a serious shoutout, with Nick Folk making a field goal in brutal conditions, and of course, the game-winning return for Jones.

As for the offense, the consistency continues to be a major problem. New England quarterback Mac Jones was very efficient, but had little to show for it. While he led the Patriots on numerous drives, the second-year signal-caller struggled against the New York Jet defense, especially in the red zone. The entire unit needs to find a way to play at a much higher level.

While the offense did struggle, a win is a win, no matter how you get it. And it's even better when the win gets you out of the AFC East cellar.

It's a short week for New England, as the Patriots play on Thanksgiving night on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. Nothing like your 7th slice of pie along with some Patriots football.
