5 New Stores Opening at The Maine Mall in South Portland

Believe it or not, the holiday shopping season is almost upon us. And this year, it's likely malls and shopping centers are going to be busier than ever.

That's because an interesting trend has emerged over the last 12 months. Consumers have become frustrated rising fulfillment costs, inconsistent delivery and difficult returns and have started returning to physical stores versus online shopping.

That opens the door for a place like the Maine Mall in South Portland to welcome in new stores. And as the calendar flips to fall, there's several new places preparing to open.

Pop Mart Will Open Its First Location at The Maine Mall in South Portland

Quickly expanding its footprint across the country, Pop Mart is preparing to make its debut in the state with a location at the Maine Mall in South Portland.

Pop Mart is known for their designer toys, pop culture collectibles and their blind boxes. Pop Mart is expected to open near the Apple Store sometime soon.

Lids Locker Room Coming to The Maine Mall in South Portland

Lids Locker room expands on the original concept of Lids stores to include a much larger assortment of official sports apparel. That will include jerseys, shirts, hoodies, collectibles and more.

Lids Locker Room has been opening stores across the country and the Maine Mall appears to be next. The store will open somewhere in the old Sears wing in the coming months.

The Paper Store Bringing a Rebranded Store Called Uncharted to The Maine Mall

While the tradition version of The Paper Store will continue on in many locations, a rebranded version called Uncharted is coming to the Maine Mall.

Uncharted will focus on stocking trendy items, lifestyle products as well as fashion items that are having a moment. Stores will also feature experiences like charm bars, ear piercing and custom events. Uncharted to expected to open soon at the Maine Mall.

Journeys is Fully Renovating Their Store at The Maine Mall in South Portland

The Maine Mall will be home to a new "4.0" Journeys store soon. The new Journeys will be brighter and easier to navigate.

It will also take the focus off of apparel like t-shirts and hoodies and put the focus on socks, bags and shoes instead. The new store will also allow Journeys to quickly adapt to new trends.

Starbucks is Returning to The Maine Mall in South Portland

Listed as coming soon on the Maine Mall website, Starbucks appears ready for a return to the largest shopping mall in the state.

Starbucks will return to the space next to Lids and Aeropostale as an extension of the food court with the expectation it will be open before the busy holiday shopping season.
