Maine Man Operating A Vehicle From The Passenger Seat Crashes Into Police Cruiser
A man from Maine was arrested on Monday night by Skowhegan Police after he crashed his van into a police cruiser because he was operating the vehicle from the passenger seat. According to the Sun-Journal, the 62-year old man claimed that someone else was initially driving the car but jumped out of the moving vehicle as police approached. Police investigated those claims, and found them to be false.
But the trouble didn't stop there for the 62-year-old in question. The van that crashed into the police cruiser had two different license plates on the front and back of the vehicle. Additionally, the man in question was driving with a suspended license, with drugs on his person and was under found to be under the influence, resulting in a OUI.
No injuries were reported from the crash and the damage to both the police cruiser and van involved were considered to be minor.
