Lewiston resident Peter Geiger makes lots of kids happy every year. He has become famous not only for being the editor of Farmers' Almanac, but also for giving away free king-sized candy bars to the children who go trick-or-treating in his neighborhood on Halloween.

This year, Geiger is doing things differently because of the coronavirus pandemic, according to WMTW. Don’t worry. He’s not going to cancel his big shindig, like other organizations are doing. Instead of trick-or-treating at his house, the news station says Geiger will move the event to his business on Mount Hope Avenue in Lewiston, so that every one can practice safe social distancing.

Parents will be able to drive by with their children in the car to get the candy. Geiger told WMTW that kids are encouraged to wear their costumes; however everybody must wear a mask (not a Halloween mask, but a face covering) to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

WMTW is reporting that the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention has released new advice for Halloween activities. Click here to find out more.
