It is cool to see how craft beer culture has really taken off in the State of Maine over the last few decades.  We rolled into the 21st century with a handful of breweries and now, two decades into the century, the state has dozens of them!  There are so many that, even as a beer lover, there are too many to keep track of.

One of the newer, but more well known, breweries in Maine is Cushnoc Brewing Company.  The brewery / wood-fired pizza place first opened their doors on Water Street in Augusta in 2017.  The establishment quickly became of favorite of locals and visitors alike.

A few years later, Cushnoc opened an annex on North Belfast Ave in Augusta.  The annex is frequently used by the company to host events.

Cusnoctoberfest

This September, Cushnoc will celebrate the popular German festival in their own way.

The event will take place at Cushnoc's annex on North Belfast Ave.  It will happen on Friday, September 15th from 4 PM to 8 PM

The festival will include the release of two new beers.  The Acadian Spruce Tip IPA and the Cushnoctoberfest.  The Facebook event page describes the Cushnoctoberfest as:

Our signature "Festbier" brewed with all German ingredients- 6% ABV. This beer will be available on draft and in cans to go! (Cans featuring artwork from local artist Allison McKeen)

There will also be games like stein hoisting and pizza dough throwing.  And, of course, there'll be food, too.  Tradition Oktoberfest foods like sausage and at least one specialty pizza.

And, it wouldn't be a party without live music, right?  There'll be live music from the Calypso Soldiers.
