Not Be Chippy or Anything But….

Chances are you know someone out there in this big world of ours that does their job toooo well. I'm thinking our friends in the snack world need to ease up just a bit.  Who doesn't love a nice potato chip! By this time, its as classic in America as apple pie and the hamburger. Ballgame, lunch picnic, bar-b-ques... chips are a part of it all as much as smiles and laughs. BASIC chips. I'm talking CHIP CHIPS. Maybe, maybe bar-b-que flavored or the occasional Dorito. Thats it though! You just don't get fancy with chips I say, especially at family gatherings! Its not natural and it scares old people!

So why is it theres 4,900 styles of chips now? Does someone in research and development at Chips Inc. have to justify their budget for next year? Is that why they come up with all these wacky ideas? What was wrong with the classic chip? Potato-y and good! Why must we jam every flavor known to man into potato chips? Most of them are gross and will never be shelved anywhere but college campus supermarkets. 

We focus so much on "more" these days. More! More and new updates, upgrades, new versions, remixes... why can't we appreciate the simple? The classic. I tell you folks give vanilla ice cream a try now and then. I have in recent times and its a heck of a thing. It will truly make you appreciate ice cream more than ever. For reals! Regular, decent potato chips.. same way really.  

I was at a store the other day and I saw this... do we really need this?  

If I want some steak flavor guess what I'm having?? Thats right! A friggin steak! A kick ass sssssssizzlin' steak! I don't think, "eh.. to hold me over, lets induldge in these. I mean they must be close to the real thing!". But some geek in the creative department thinks that way. Some hall monitor, overworker came up with important chips like; ketchup, dill pickle, chicken & waffles, sweet Maui Onion, baby back ribs and of course Prawn Cocktail?? I kid you not. Prawn Cocktail.

Hey, I LOVE ketchup. Ketchup all day for me, but I don't need it to be a chip! Chicken & waffles? An amazing combo thats not known to us in the northeast as much as it is out west where they have restaurants that specalize in serving the combo. I love chicken. I love waffles. Doesn't mean I need them in a chip yo! Someone was just working too hard one day at the chip plant and had to justify their job and so voila, now we have classic BLT chips! Thanks. Lettuce in our chips. Awesome.

Why can't people go back to playing solitaire at their desk when they're bored rather then making us gag at 4th of July at parties...
