In every word association game we've ever played (and granted, that's a whole one or two between the 6 of us), we at WCYY have never even come close to associating the words "relaxing" and "heavy metal." In fact, we'd think it would be quite the opposite. However, a new yoga class up north is poised to prove us wrong.

WCSH-6 reports that Shu Tate, a yoga instructor at the MOVE Yoga and Wellness Center in Bangor is now offering a Heavy Metal Yoga class. Yes, you read that right. Watch the video of WCSH's below to get a taste of what the class is like:

The point of the class is to find a place of zen by, rather unconventionally, letting your anger out. WCSH writes that Tate says "It's okay to be angry. It's okay to let that stuff out." As the video shows, he really means it - the class has participants actually scream and make other angry noises while striking the poses. To someone out of the loop, this might well look like a group exorcism.

In all seriousness, this actually sounds really cool. Team CYY has been discussing doing a group session ourselves, but as you know, our highly dedicated aversion to athleticism takes priority.

Have you ever taken part in a yoga class like this? Let us know in the comments!
