Portland House of Music in Maine is For Sale Again
There was once a time not that long ago when finding a single venue in Portland, Maine, that consistently featured live music, dancing and more was nearly impossible.
These days, Portland is home to several longstanding and successful performance spaces. In fact, the city is looked at with such favorable eyes that a battle is underway between Live Nation and others to open the city's largest and most modern indoor venue.
That uncertainty amongst other factors are why a notable venue is once again up for sale, hoping to find a new owner willing to fight the good fight for years to come.
Portland House of Music and Events Hits Market Three Years After Last Sale
Launched in 2015 by Ken Bell, the Portland House of Music and Events was viewed to be Bell's reincarnation of a former space he ran, The Big Easy.
After 7 years at the helm, Bell decided to move on and sold the business to a talent buyer out of Colorado named Patrick Calabro.
Listed by Malone Commercial Brokers, the 300 capacity venue is now officially for sale again. The sale of the business would include a transfer of booked events, website and digital assets as well as equipment inside the space.
Could Portland House of Music and Events Be Used Differently?
Since the change in ownership from Bell to Calabro, there have been some minor changes in the types of concerts and events held at PHOME, but for the most part, the venue has continued to operate the same as when it began.
If another buyer comes forward for the PHOME, it's possible they may have a different vision for the space in the types of events that regularly happen there.
One thing to note, there will likely need to be a new lease negotiated for the space as ownership of the real estate is not included in this offering.
