Portland’s Fort Allen Turns 200 [PHOTOS]

Two hundred years of any one thing in Portland is not only cool, it calls for a celebration! That's what's going on this weekend for Fort Allen on Munjoy Hill: The Fort's Bicentennial is this Friday and Saturday.Fort Allen is a spot many, many Portlanders and our visitors find on the gorgeous days we get here.  But the straight-up tone of the festivities Friday and Saturday will, again, commemorate the park as a Civil War monument, and help close out the many months' restoration of the Park, itself. (It looks great, by the way).

A great opportunity to cheer for a true landmark in our midst. And feel a bit more pride than we already feel, being from Portland.  If feeling more pride is possible.
