Given how many people exist on planet Earth right now, finding any semblance of quiet can be incredibly difficult. But according to Daily Passport, there are still a handful of places throughout America where reserved moments still exist. One of those places happens to be in Maine.

Daily Passport highlights the Bold Coast in Maine as one of the 'quietest' places in America to visit. That is great news if you want to be left alone, because the Bold Coast spans roughly 150 miles of coastline so there are a lot of places to seek serenity.

If you're unfamiliar with the Bold Coast Scenic Byway, it's a lengthy stretch of road that extends from the small town of Milbridge and ends in the small town of Lubec. If you did a nonstop drive of the bold coast, it would take you around three hours to complete it.

Where You Can Find Some Peace and Quiet on the Bold Coast

One of the best stops along the Bold Coast is the Cutler Coast Public Reserved Lands. It's a sprawling preserve that overlooks the picturesque Bay of Fundy and offers visitors some great hikes, picnic spots and lots of peace and quiet.

And no trip along the Bold Coast would be complete without a trip to Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec. It's become popular enough that celebrities have visited just to watch the first sunrise of the day happen.

When is the Best Time to Travel the Bold Coast in Maine?

That is totally up to what you want to see and experience. According to Maine.gov, spring is a great time to visit if you love birdwatching, less traffic and don't mind inconsistent weather conditions.

Summer is ideal. Driving conditions are typically fantastic, seasonal restaurants and tours are open for business and Maine's wildlife is at their peak availability. There's also the annual Blueberry Festival in August.
