Rave N Rage – Live Music Roundup for the Weekend of 9/21/2018
FRIDAY & SATURDAY
Waking Windows Portland
Multiple Venues (Portland)
Start Times Specific to Venues
$30 for 2-Day Pass
Age Admittance Depends on Venue
- Spinning the traditional festival concept in a unique way, Waking Windows Portland makes use of multiple venues spread out across the Portland peninsula. This means that local clubs can get involved, which is pretty cool. Also cool is that this festival is incorporating 100+ bands, most of which are local, like Jaw Gems pictured below.
FRIDAY
David Bromberg
Stone Mountain Arts Center (Brownfield)
5:00pm Doors / 8:00pm Show
$50 Tickets
All Ages
- David Bromberg is considered by many to be the godfather of modern americana, and I think there's good reason to refer to him as such. Pair a great performer with a super-cool venue, and you've got a sure shot for a great show.
SATURDAY
Jukebox The Ghost
Port City Music Hall (Portland)
7:00pm Doors / 7:30pm Show
$17 Advance / $20 Day of Show
18+
- One of indie rock's most interesting bands, Jukebox the Ghost is finally making their way up to Portland. No gloomy, down in the dumps rock and roll here - you'll find more pink and confetti on stage than breakup songs.
Painting P-Town Brown – A Tribute to Ween
Portland House of Music (Portland)
8:00pm Doors / 9:00pm Show
$8 Advance / $12 Day of Show
21+
- Probably rock's biggest inside joke, Ween has become legendary for writing the strangest, yet somehow most endearing songs in the genre's history. With local musicians tearing into Ween's extensive catalog, this show is going to get weird, but in the best way.
