
New Mexican Restaurant Opens in Yarmouth, Maine
In a place like Portland, Maine, restaurants opening and closing seem like a weekly occurrence. Residents and visitors to the city fully expect that there will be turnover with something new to try and something old to miss.
But that's not always the case is some of Maine's smaller towns. Change can be difficult with many restaurants and shops holding steady even when they change ownership.
So when change is inevitable, it becomes big news in that small town. And one place in Maine has had a lot of big news in a short amount of time.
New Mexican Restaurant Opens on Main Street in Yarmouth
In October of last year, Thoroughfare announced that they would be closing their popular burger takeout restaurant along with the adjacent store known as Dandy's Handy.
According to Portland Food Map, after several months of sitting vacant, a new Mexican restaurant is ready to make a go of it at the 367 Main Street location formerly home to Thoroughfare.
The restaurant is called Salsa Mexican Grill and they are officially open for business.

Taking over an iconic space in town can be daunting, but Salsa Mexican Grill is offering up a signature margarita that pays homage to the history of where they operate. They feature a 'Dandy Margarita' on the menu as a tip of a the cap.
Another interesting menu feature for Salsa is their salsa flights. All made in-house, guests can make their way through different salsas, some deliciously sweet while others are packed with spice.
