The Record of the Year Goes to Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’
The Best New Artist at the 57th Annual Grammys is also the man with the Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Pop Vocal Album of the Year. Sam Smith is celebrating a huge night as he heads home with four Grammys, all on the heels of his massively successful 2014.
'Stay With Me (Darkchild Version)' snagged the Record of the Year honor against Iggy Azalea, Sia, Taylor Swift and Meghan Trainor. After picking up his three earlier awards Sunday evening (Feb. 8), it wasn't a huge shock when Smith's name was announced by Jamie Foxx and Stevie Wonder for the coveted Grammy.
Along with Smith, Steve Fitzmaurice, Rodney Jerkins, Jimmy Napes, Steve Price and Tom Coyne -- each serving in producer, mixer or engineer roles -- share the distinguished honor.
With his four Grammys in hand, we extend a huge congratulations to Sam Smith and the entire team at Capitol Records!
