Forget the new album, Maynard James Keenan and the rest of Tool will venture to Bangor this spring, playing all of their greatest hits live.

Unofficially, 1 out of every 5 people from Maine has a deep rooted love for the band Tool. They've been a genre-bending staple of rock since the early 1990's and continue to captivate fans with their live shows. Waterfront Concerts has announced that Tool will play one of those live shows this spring, Saturday, May 27th on the Bangor waterfront.

Despite the band's track record of immense success, they've been on the back burner in recent years. Frontman Maynard James Keenan has focused on his other projects, Puscifer and A Perfect Circle during the hiatus. A long rumored new record from Tool has yet to materialize. And a quick check of Setlist.fm suggests Tool hasn't played in Maine since 1998. However, one of our listeners pointed out, there was a sold out Cumberland County Civic Center show in 2001. How dare we forget! Will any of that matter? Umm..no.

Tickets officially go on-sale Friday, March 17th at 10 a.m. There is reserved seating as well as general admission for this show.
