Third Eye Blind Fan Barges onto Tour Bus, Promptly Slapped by Band Manager
A semi-charmed life indeed.
An intoxicated Third Eye Blind superfan was arrested after the band’s concert on Saturday night (March 26) in Athens, Ga., when he attempted to enter the group's tour bus without permission. The Athens Banner-Herald reports 28-year-old Kevin Gerald Knoblich just wanted to tell Third Eye Blind how much he enjoyed their performance at the Georgia Theatre, but when he attempted to board their bus to pay his compliments, the band’s manager, Lucas McNees, “slapped and punched” him.
Police were called to the theater after a fight in progress was reported. Bystanders indicated Knoblich “was the problem,” and the Athens-Clarke County police report states he appeared to be drunk and admitted to entering the band’s bus without permission. McNees claims Knoblich refused to leave after being escorted away from the bus, began yelling and cursing and pushed and slapped the manager. Knoblich was ultimately charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Third Eye Blind are currently on tour behind their latest album Dopamine, which arrived last year. They will play a show in Baton Rouge, La., with more stops planned through July. Check out their itinerary right here.
