This Awesome Decoration from Damariscotta’s Pumpkinfest Has Us In The Halloween Spirit
Can you smell it in the air? No, not the pot cloud coming from Portland. The crispness of fall! That can mean only one thing... Halloween! I've been gearing up for Halloween here at WCYY since our calendars first hit October. Though scary movies, spooky decorations, and an excuse to eat a ridiculous amount of candy guilt-free would be a good thing in anyones book, I think!
No one is more ready for fall than the town of Damariscotta, though. Every year, the town plays host to Pumpkinfest, where HUGE pumpkins are distributed all around the town, and decorated by businesses and artists in the spirit of the season. There's one particularly awesome pumpkin we want to highlight today, though. Check it out in this great video by WCSH6 below:
Just for clarification, we're talking about the witch-squashing pumpkin towards the end of the video here. HOW COOL IS THAT!? As WCSH reports, that pumpkin was decorated by Ronna Lugosch of Peapod Jewelry in Edgecomb. Props, Ronna! That sucker is cooler than anything I've ever managed to erect in my yard.
That particular specimin isn't the biggest, though - not by far. According to Channel 6, it takes a truck to move the biggest submissions to the festival every year. No more complaining about moving them from my car to my stoop, I guess.
