This Hidden Gem Caribbean Food Truck in Saco, Maine, is a Taste of Paradise
Food trucks have become abundant throughout Maine, mostly in the bigger cities, and they're popping up in places you'd least expect them. So you imagine how surprised I was to see this Caribbean Food Truck parked at a pinball tournament I was attending on Thursday.
For six weeks, my son and I will be playing in a local pinball league at the Silverball Tavern on Scammon Street in Saco. If you've never been to the Silverball Tavern, it's worth a trip. All ages are allowed and adult beverages are available. Plus look at all those pinball machines! That's only half the room!
On our first night of pinball league "Da Caribbean Flavors" food truck was parked in the parking lot and there was already a line when we drove in. Well, my son drove it. He's got his learner's permit and yeah. It makes me nervous sometimes when I don't have a break on the passenger side of the car.
If you've never been to the Caribbean, which I have not much to the disappointment of my girlfriend Michele, this is your chance to get a taste of what the food is like. The menu looks familiar but with a few twists on some old favorites, like Bahamian Mac & Cheese. If I hadn't just eaten when we arrived, I would have given that try for sure.
Fish Fingers, coconut shrimp, jerk chicken and pork and all kinds of sauces.
If you'd like to give it a try, you don't have to know how to play pinball to do it, but you might have fun trying it.
They'll be in the Maine Silverball Tavern parking lot at 35 Scamman Street in Saco Thursday evenings, starting again on August 3 and until further notice after that. You can also hire them for events by hitting their Facebook page for the contact info.
