Toys ‘R’ Us Opens New Seasonal Location in New Hampshire

For those of a certain age, there was nothing quite like a visit to a Toys 'R' Us store. Bright lights and aisles upon aisles of incredible toys. Most of which you couldn't find in stock at other retailers.

But competition in the toy market grew stiffer and shopping habits for customers changed. That led to the demise of Toys 'R' Us and the pure joy both adults and kids felt when shopping in-store.

But times are changing again.

According to USA Today, the Toys 'R' Us brand is having a comeback moment. Toys 'R' Us plans to open 30 new stores across the nation before the holidays, including a seasonal store at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester.

The only new store Toys 'R' Us is set to open in New England for 2025 is at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester. According to the mall's website, the Toys 'R' Us location has already opened for business.

The physical footprint of the Toys 'R' Us seasonal stores is smaller than what many remember from their childhood. But Toys 'R' Us is operating more efficiently as satisfying customers needs and demands even if certain toys aren't in stock.

More Toys 'R' Us Stores Throughout New England Will Be Likely in 2026

Toys 'R' Us has already opened 'flagship' stores in a few major cities across the country. As long as customer interest remains, Toys 'R' Us plans to continue expansion of year-round stores as well as additional seasonal shops in 2026.

That could bode well for additional Toys 'R' Us locations in Maine beyond the small department as part of Macy's inside the Maine Mall.
