Portland Head Light is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country and a popular destination for both tourists and locals. The impressive beacon stands as a welcoming symbol on the rocky Casco Bay coastline. However, you can't see much of it's iconic white stones right now due to construction staging.

A quick call to the Portland Head Light Museum revealed that contractors are repointing some of the stones, repairing the structure, and painting the tower. Don't worry, this is regular maintenance. Portland Head Light will be back to it's usual appearance in time for a season of tourists and it is still open during repairs.
