This is great news. Not that anyone has ever wanted to go to Columbus Ohio...but the airline industry and our own Portland Jetport are doing what they can to make up for 2020. Obviously business was down, but for the Jetport it was down more than 60% from 2019. With more people becoming vaccinated, more people are feeling the confidence to fly again.

But is it safe to travel on airplanes? According to the CDC:

Air travel requires spending time in security lines and airport terminals, which can bring you in close contact with other people and frequently touched surfaces. Most viruses and other germs do not spread easily on flights because of how air circulates and is filtered on airplanes. However, social distancing is difficult on crowded flights, and you may have to sit near others (within 6 feet), sometimes for hours. This may increase your risk for exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19.

Airplanes are are safer than actual airports - so wear your mask and try to stay away from eveyrone...and enjoy!
