Yelp’s Top 6 Burger Chains Are Missing One Thing: Maine Locations
Apparently, Maine is not the place to be if you’re looking to sample the country’s most beloved burger chains—at least according to Yelp’s Top 25 Burger Chains list just published by USA Today, just in time for National Burger Day on May 28th.
Of the top 10, only Five Guys (#7) and Red Robin (#10) have a presence in our state. The top six? Not even a french fry in sight. Here's what we’re missing out on:
1. In-N-Out Burger
Of course. I’ve seen it on TV, I’ve heard about it from my friends out West, and the commercials make it look like heaven in a bun. It’s basically the Bigfoot of burger chains if you live in Maine—constantly hyped, never seen.
2. The Habit Burger Grill
A California-based chain serving up charburgers with a West Coast vibe. Apparently their secret is fresh ingredients and a smoky grill. I'm sure they’re delicious... not that I'd know.
3. Shake Shack
Born in NYC, famous for its Shack Sauce, crinkle-cut fries, and milkshakes that could end a bad day. Nearest one? Massachusetts. Road trip?
4. Culver’s
Beloved in the Midwest for its ButterBurgers and frozen custard. It seems like the kind of place where comfort food is an art form—and they’re not afraid to put a little extra butter into your food.
5. Islands Restaurants
This is a tropical-themed burger chain mostly hanging out in Southern California... seeing a trend here? I'm immediately thinking beach vibes, Hawaiian shirts, and burgers with pineapple. Imagine eating a luau-style burger… in January… in Windham. We can dream.
6. Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers
Think steakburgers and shoestring fries straight from Kansas. Over 500 locations in the U.S., but nope—not a single Freddy’s here, except maybe a guy who sells maple syrup out of a truck in Arundel.
Maine may have stunning coastlines, but when it comes to trendy burger joints, we’re sitting at the kids’ table.
