One of the things New England seems to have no shortage of is nearly vacant, aging, buildings. Across the region, there are dozens of century old office buildings, mill buildings, and hospitals that are just waiting for a developer to come along and breathe new life into them.
In fact, there is a 120+ year old former hospital building for sale in the Eastern Maine town of Dexter.
According to Maine Listings, the old Plummer Memorial Hospital, which was built in 1900, covers three floors and encompasses nearly 11,000 square feet of space. According to the listing, about 6,000 square feet has been developed as office space and about 3,000 square feet has been leased out to a long term rental.
The building has been well maintained and has an elevator that reaches all three floors of the building. The facility also has a paved parking lot that has nearly two dozen spaces.
