Since the pandemic, there has been a noticeable change in the lunch crowd around Portland. Less people regularly working in offices, less possible customers for restaurants that rely on people being hungry for lunch.

Because of that, there's been a paring in deli and sandwich businesses in downtown Portland. While some of closed permanently, one mainstay has continued to carry on. That would be the City Deli inside the One City Center food court.

City Deli in Portland, Maine, Makes a Location Change

For decades, City Deli has been slinging sandwiches, soups and more from the One City Center food court. There's been a couple of location changes through the years but the deli has always remained totally confined to the food court.

Not anymore. City Deli has moved into the vacated space left behind by Citrus nightclub and MJ's Wine Bar. It allows City Deli to operate under its own hours with its own access point to the restaurant. There's also additional signage outside of One City Center that will allow people to find the deli more easily.

There's Also a Slight Name Change for City Deli

That signage on the outside of the restaurant also showcases a small name change. It's now called Esposito's City Deli. While the name change is there, the same great food that City Deli has been serving up hasn't changed.

They offer breakfast and lunch, including daily specials that range from home-cooked favorites to specialty soups. Esposito's City Deli also offers catering for special events as well.
