For generations upon generations of families in Maine, the Farmers' Almanac has been a staple for everything from weather forecasting to deep rooted pieces of wisdom.

But according to WMTW, that more than 200-year tradition is set to come to an end following the Farmers' Almanac's 2026 edition.

Farmers' Almanac Says Goodbye On Their Website

To the shock of longtime supporters who have taken for granted that the Farmers' Almanac would always be around, the publication took to their website to announce the end of the Farmers' Almanac completely.

It was deemed a difficult decision to end the centuries-old publication but a necessary one. The Farmers' Almanac thanked loyal subscribers for their love and hope that some of the traditions of the almanac will live on beyond its final edition.

Farmers' Almanac Website and Social Media Pages Will Also Shut Down

The Farmers' Almanac decision to cease operations isn't just a paper publication issue. The Farmers' Almanac plans to shut down their website as stop posting on social media as well.

Even non-subscribers trusted the Farmers' Almanac for fishing and gardening forecasts as well as moon phases and long-range winter forecasts.

That will be gone forever at the end of 2025.

The Old Farmers' Almanac Will Live On

For a long time, there's been confusion between the Maine-based Farmers' Almanac and the New Hampshire-based Old Farmers' Almanac.

The Old Farmers' Almanac will continue operations as normal with no plans of shutting down.
