Augusta Police had a busy Sunday evening. Social media and news outlets erupted with information that shots had been fired in the parking lot of the Walmart location in Augusta around 5:30 p.m. Amazingly, no one was injured in the gun battle.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the firearm face-off took place between two specific individuals who apparently knew each other. After unleashing shots while in vehicles, one of the suspects emerged from the car to confront the other still inside a vehicle. From there, the dispute was interrupted by civilians who police later identified as being armed citizens.

Police arrested 4 individuals involved and continue to search for a 5th person of interest, a female, who reportedly fled the scene on foot.

The Augusta Police Department released a video statement via their official Facebook page updating the investigation.
