Garbage Unleash Dark and Fiery New Track, ‘Empty’
Garbage will drop their first album in four years, Strange Little Birds, this summer, and ahead of that day, Shirley Manson and the boys shared the lead single “Empty.”
They debuted the song today (April 20) on the Kevin & Bean show on Los Angeles' KROQ, and in a press release, Manson said its message couldn’t be more straightforward. “‘Empty’ is just exactly what it says it is,” she said. “[It’s] a song about emptiness.” Sonically, however, “Empty” is brimming with searing guitar and a dark, brooding pulse. Take a listen up above.
Prior to the album’s arrival on June 10, the band will host a listening party at East West Studios in L.A. where fans can hear the album in full. They will also play a three-song set and participate in a Q&A. The listening party will take place on May 17, and you can find ticket information right here.
You can pre-order Strange Little Birds now at iTunes or grab it on CD or vinyl at the band’s website.
