Memorial Day weekend is here and the weather looks good for getting outdoors. Perfect actually, not too hot and not too cool!  It's so important during this pandemic to be able to get away, breathe some Maine air and hike, fish and frolic! That being said, our friends at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife have some reminders for you as we get into the unofficial start of summer:

Please continue following CDC guidelines
Always tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return
Be prepared for ticks
Pick up after yourself
Wear a life jacket when on or near the water
Stick to your comfort level to avoid injuries

It's important to remember that licensing and registrations have kicked back in. Again from the MDIFW:

  • Fishing and hunting licenses are required, and all current laws and rules apply.
  • Boats and ATVs must have valid registrations.
  • Not all ATV trails are open. Check with the local club before you go and obey closed trail signs. The open trails are BUSY, please drive responsibly!
