Nothing beats a white Christmas. Will we get one?

We can only go by history and our current weather patterns. And for that type of expertise, we turn to the experts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – NOAA.

Let's get real. This map is great and based on the 'historic probability', we are at a 48% chance of having a white Christmas in Portland. NOAA has an interactive map where you can click on different towns in Maine or New Hampshire.

That's incredibly optimistic as no weather forecast has any significant snow in the forecast for the rest of December. Any weather in the greater Portland area for the holidays is rain. Ugh. I'm NOT dreaming of a brown and gray Christmas. But there is one town in Maine that has a chance of a white Christmas. According to Country Living, it's Caribou. They are among the top 10 towns for a chance at a white one.

So, you better head to Alaska or Caribou. They both seem too far to travel. I would love, love, love a white Christmas and I truly don't see it happening. I see two solutions. I gotta move to Caribou or move Christmas to January. Yeah, I guess rain it is.
