Once the dust settles from a busy holiday shopping season, there is typically some turnover at malls across the country.

Leases expire and nationwide brands reassess where their stores are working and where they are not.

The Maine Mall is no exception to the rule. For several years running, there have been a handful of closures in January of a new year as the turnover process restarts.

And if you've visited the mall since the beginning of the new year, you've probably noticed one store in particular is missing.

Leggings Home at the Maine Mall Has Closed Permanently

Located adjacent to the food court, Leggings Home has officially closed at the Maine Mall in South Portland.

Leggings Home is the largest retail chain the country for leggings but couldn't seem to find its footing at the Maine Mall.

There was no specific reason given as to why Leggings Home closed their Maine Mall location. However, in recent days, the brand's website has says that the store is no longer available.

It is unknown as of this writing if Leggings Home is part of a nationwide closure.

Another Closure at the Maine Mall is On The Way

One store inside the Maine Mall that is part of a nationwide closure of stores is Francesca's.

The boutique clothing store that has been part of many malls across the country is closing all stores nationwide. There are nearly 400 stores across the country.

A liquidation sale is ongoing at the Maine Mall with a permanent closure of the store expected soon.
