Maine Warden Service Says Three Deer Illegally Killed in Harmony

The Maine Warden Service is investigating the killing of three deer that were left to rot on a farmer's land in Harmony, Maine.

In a post on the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife's Facebook page, they say that on Tuesday morning the carcasses of two does and a fawn were found in the farmer's field. Wardens were not sure when the deer were killed, but it must have been a day or two prior due to the decomposition of the deer.

Maine hunting laws state that only deer with antlers at least 3 inches long may be taken during deer hunting season unless a hunter has an any-deer permit for use in wildlife management districts. It's not stated in the post, but deer were killed on what could be private land owned by the farmer.

Maine Operation Game Thief is offering a $3000 reward for information that leads to a conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing the deer.
