Whether it's distance, our busy lives or lack of family to visit, if you're looking for a sit-down family-style meal, check out Fork Food Labs 1st annual "Friendsgiving".

Freshly carved turkey, mashed potatoes and all the fixings...sounds great, right? For a lot of people this time of year, there's a want to have a sit down meal in the tradition of Thanksgiving but it just isn't possible. How things have changed.

Fork Food Lab, one of the brand new upstart businesses in the Portland area, is holding their 1st annual "Friendsgiving". On the Monday before the Thanksgiving holiday, November 21st, people will gather at Fork on 72 Parris Street for the same kind of meal you'd expect at home, minus the Macy's parade and afternoon football.

Fork promises enough food to be completely stuffed walking out the door, plus selections of beer and wine to make eating with strangers a lot more fun. Some of those strangers will be the people who made the Fork Food Lab come to life. Not only that, like any Thanksgiving meal, you'll have leftovers to take home with you after its all done.

This is a ticketed event and tickets are limited, so grab them while they're still available and if you can't make it home for Thanksgiving, there's always Friendsgiving.
