The Way Way Store in Saco, Maine, Holding Final Yard Sale

For many people throughout the state of Maine, their local general store is considered a lifeline.

General stores are known across the state as a place where you can get just about anything. From some light groceries to takeout food, hardware and even a wedding gown plus a gun if you know the right place.

Maine has been home to many very popular general stores for as long as people can remember.

One of those general stores has been located in Saco, Maine. An iconic spot called the Way Way Store. A place known for its friendly faces and museum-level like memorabilia, knick-knacks and more.

And now, the Way Way Store is selling it all.

The Way Way Store in Saco, Maine, Will Hold One Final Yard Sale

The Way Way Store announced on Facebook that they plan to hold an epic yard sale on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10.

Both yard sale dates will be rain or shine and run from 9am until 4pm unless everything sells before then.

The Way Way Store will essentially put everything up for sale, from classic memorabilia to the store oddities as well as some of the more modern items that can help a small store run properly.

The Way Way Store in Saco, Maine, Announced Permanent Closure in March

Shared on Facebook, the official Way Way Store page made a simple announcement back in March. The store was closing permanently.

The Saco, Maine, institution declared that the store has closed forever and the owners have retired with gratitude.

The original Way Way Store opened in 1916 out of a barn that was located way, way from downtown.

The current location was constructed in the late 1920's and its unique design earned it a spot on the National Register of Historic Places.
