I'll just say it.

Sunday night's Ultimate Metallica Show, for me, was an escape. I didn't talk about the news. I didn't talk about the world. I put my head in the sand and for two hours I cranked up Metallica. If you listened, I hope it provided an escape for you, too.

With it being the last Sunday in February, that means the anniversary of the release of Master of Puppets is right around the corner. The record was unleashed onto the world on March 3, 1986, and so in honor of that release, the first hour was dedicated to the album. We played Master of Puppets in its entirety, but instead of spinning the studio tracks, we played live performances of each track.

Then in the second hour, we pulled out a couple of other surprises, including "My World" from St. Anger and the inimitable cover of "Sad But True" by Sam Fender. You can get the full recap below.

Our next show is Sunday, March 6, and it's going to feature an incredible track from Metallica covering Alice in Chains. If you want to get any song requests in, make sure to send me a message in the CYY app and I will see what I can do!
