This Beautiful Maine Stone Home Looks Like Something From A Movie

If you have spent any time in Maine, you know that we have a wide variety of types of homes.  We've got everything from single wide mobile homes, to Victorian era houses, to Federalist stile mansions.

Some types of homes still stick out, though.  Homes that are completely constructed of stone, for example.

That's why this Belgrade estate really caught our eye.  It really does like like the kind of home you'd see in a movie.

Built in 1970, this 3,400 square foot home was, at one time, owned by a local artist named Cecily Diamond.  The home, which was designed by architect and author Scott Nearing, is made almost entirely from fieldstone collected from the property.  It has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  It is very spartan, but also very cool.  In our opinion, a few upgrades could really make this place shine!

One of the really cool parts about the home is the large stone fireplace that dominates the living room.  The fireplace as the ornate iron vents that you need to see!  Check out the pics of those below.

We called the property an estate because, in addition to the home and the barn, the place comes with 211 acres of land!
