This Cumberland Police Officer Went The Extra Mile to Help an Elderly Man
Sometimes we forget that police officers are sworn to serve and protect our communities.
Sergeant Thomas Burgess has been with the Cumberland Police Department for 28 years and there's no better example of his never ending service to his community than when he recently bought an elderly man groceries and made him a nice dinner after noticing he was running low on food when checking in on him.
When someone asked on Facebook what they can do to make sure this man continues to have the food he needs, the Cumberland Police responded by saying Sgt. Burgess has taken this person under his wing to make sure he gets whatever help he may need from the state, family and medically.
Our hats are off to you Sgt. Burgess. You make not only your community, but the entire state proud of what you do for those in need.
