What is Portland doing for the 4th of July?

Let's start with what Portland is NOT doing. Portland will not have the Portland Symphony Orchestra play in conjunction with the fireworks. Something that has happened almost every year since 2010.

But, they did announce back in April that the PSO may do some sort of summer concert. Stay tuned for news on that.

The fireworks WILL happen (usually around 930 pm.) and there will be food trucks.

I'm also going to venture an educated guess that thousands of people will be on the Eastern Prom for the welcome return of an awesome fireworks display.

According to News Center Maine, Portland will release more details Friday, June 4.

What will Lewiston/Auburn be doing for the 4th of July?

Lewiston Auburn will be having the Liberty Festival fireworks on JULY 3 (rain date July 5) around 930 p.m., and that's it.

The fireworks will be over the Great Falls and Androscoggin River. L/A did provide a map of some of the best viewing spots.

There will be no vendors, music, or events for this year's celebration, but there will be a hell of a fireworks display.

What will Bangor be doing for the 4th of July?

Bangor is all in! A full day of activities is planned and will start with a pancake breakfast and end with fireworks! The pancake breakfast starts at 7 a.m., which gives you time to digest before the parade at 11 a.m.

There is a concert, Chords for a Cure, at the Bangor Waterfront. All proceeds are going to help the Eastern Maine Medical Center Foundation.

The music starts at 6 pm and until 9:30 pm, that's when the fireworks start over the Penobscot River where you can turn around and have a great seat for the fireworks!
