5 Things To Do To Pass The Time Until Your Power Comes Back
Well Mainers, it looks like we're gonna be without power for a little while. CMP just reported that there won't be any power restorations happening at all today, so no need to keep an eye on your clocks to see if it comes back today. We, for better or worse, now live in a very technology-heavy world, and so a day without power could see you having to miss binge-watching your favorite show (not watching Stranger Things Season 2 is going to hurt later), but there isn't much we can really do about it for the time being.
So, in the meantime, here's a list of 5 things you can do to stay occupied without using any power at all!
Read A Book
Back in ancient times, before even the Motorola Razr, there were strange objects called books what humans read before screens came along. If you look really hard, you may even find a few in your house!
... Seriously, though, it's time to catch up on that beach-side book you never finished!
Play A Musical Instrument
This may not apply to all of you, but if it does, then you're lucky. Unless you happen to be a DJ, musical instruments don't require any electricity to play. Time to get in some much needed practice!
Make Stovetop S'Mores
If you didn't know about this one before, then you're welcome. (While you might not need power for this one, you do need gas!)
Wallow in Existential Dread
We're nor serious about this one, but a lot of people sure seem to do it when there's no power. Relax! Take it easy! Trust us - no one's going to miss it if you don't post a picture of your lunch on Instagram today.
Take A Nap
Seriously, trust me on this one. After taking the morning schedule on, naps have become my best friend. There's nothing as brilliant as coming home and going to sleep for 30mins, just to feel refreshed and energized for the rest of the day. In the often sad, always hilarious words of Dr. Steve Brule, "There's no lonely times, just dreams."
